ABOUt
Dr Ibrahim Orekoya joined Sheffield Business School as a Lecturer (Business, Management and People Division) in 2024. Prior to joining Sheffield Business School, he worked at Lancaster University Management School, UK, and Lagos Business School, Pan-Atlantic University. Ibrahim is an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
Dr Orekoya holds a B.Sc. degree (First Class Honours) in Business Administration from Babcock University and an M.Sc. degree in Management from the University of Lagos. He received his PhD in Management from Lancaster University.
Ibrahim is a recipient of the Early Career Research and Innovation Fellowship (2025/26) at Sheffield Hallam University, and the 2025 Emerald Literati Award for Outstanding Paper.
His research interests are in the areas of leadership, knowledge and innovation, sustainability, and entrepreneurship. His research has been published in Management Decision, Human Resource Development International, and Leadership & Organization Development Journal, and has been presented at renowned business management conferences such as the Institute for Small Business and Entrepreneurship (ISBE) and the British Academy of Management.
Ibrahim has been a reviewer for internationally leading journals including Human Resource Management Journal, International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management, Journal of Organizational Effectiveness: People and Performance, Leadership & Organization Development Journal, Corporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Management, and Career Development International, and conferences namely the Academy of Management (AOM), European Academy of Management (EURAM), and British Academy of Management (BAM).
