I am a Chartered Quantity Surveyor (MRICS) and Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA), with over 15 years of academic and industry experience across the UK, Asia, and Africa. I hold a PhD in Quantity Surveying, an MSc in Construction Management, a BTech in Quantity Surveying and a PGCert in Teaching in Higher Education.

My professional career began as a Graduate Quantity Surveyor with Peak Quantity Surveyors, where I gained valuable experience across a range of building and civil engineering projects. This early industry experience provided a strong foundation for my subsequent international career and shaped my approach to integrating professional practice with construction education.

I currently serve as a Senior Lecturer and TNE SHU-Horizon Campus Collaborative Course Leader in Quantity Surveying at Sheffield Hallam University. I teach across undergraduate, apprenticeship, and postgraduate programmes, with expertise in measurement, cost management, digital construction, and sustainable building practices. Previously, I served as Head of the Built Environment Section at the University of Reading and as Course Leader for the MSc Quantity Surveying programme at Sheffield Hallam University.

My academic and professional contributions have been recognised through several international scholarships and awards, including the 2021 Collaborative Teaching Award from the University of Reading. My research centres on the application of Building Information Modelling (BIM) to sustainable design, energy-efficient construction, and smart cost management, with a particular focus on its contribution to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 7, 9, and 11). I have published extensively in Scopus- and ISI-indexed journals, contributed book chapters, and presented my research at international conferences.

I have also played an active role in strengthening links between academia and industry. As Head of Built Environment, I established an International Industry Advisory Board to ensure that curriculum development and academic delivery remained responsive to changing industry needs. I continue to contribute to the profession through roles as an external examiner, accreditation panel member, editorial contributor, and invited speaker.

Throughout my career, I have remained committed to connecting academic learning with real-world professional practice, developing industry-relevant construction education, and supporting innovation and sustainability within the built environment.
