TEACHING & SUPERVISION

I am Trinity College TESOL qualified in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages, and have two years of extensive teaching experience in China, where I taught children and adults in English, Cultural Affairs, and Business English.
I currently work in Higher Eductation as a Student Support Team Leader, and I often present directly to student cohorts (non-SHU). For example, I design and deliver introduction sessions, welcome talks, and some skills specific sessions, such as managing reasonable adjustments.
I have UK Secondary School Cover Superivor experience.
My academic background is rooted in Chinese language, culture, history, environment, politics, and people, and in International Relations, specifically East Asia, via my BA (Hons) and MA.
I have completed RIDA's Teaching Skills for Doctoral Students.
I am inspired to teach on Environmental Management, Politics, International Relations, or similar courses.
I am passionate about helping our students gain critical analysis skills and applying them in contexxt, so that they can drive forward positive environmentalism, cultural understanding, and better navigate their academic and professional challages.
