I worked in data management, analysis and data science in retail banking for around 10 years before returning to university in 2019. Since then I've studied data science and AI, especially natural language processing (NLP; the tools and techniques we use to help computer systems to make sense of written, spoken and signed language which humans can understand), and have a PhD in Speech and Language Technologies.
