I became a full-time lecturer at Sheffield Hallam in 2021 teaching on modules across Sport and Exercise Science and Physical Activity. Previous to joining Sheffield Hallam University full time, I worked as a tennis strength and conditioning coach and tennis coach supporting a wide range of players. This included managing athletic development programs and working with tennis players travelling and competing at high levels of competition. I teach across a number of modules within the university related to strength and conditioning, multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary sport and exercise science practice and sports coaching.
Following the completion of both my undergraduate and postgraduate degrees at Sheffield Hallam University in 2007, I worked in the tennis industry for 14 years as a tennis coach, strength and conditioning coach and running my own business, Science in Tennis. My main areas of interest include youth physical development and how sport science disciplines, coaches and athletes collaborate, working together to solve problems. I am currently studying a PhD around the use of language and terminology across sport science and sports coaching teams.
