I have twenty years of experience as a criminologist and currently hold the position of Associate Head in the Institute of Law and Justice. I am an experienced lecturer who has led undergraduate and postgraduate courses in law, criminology, policing and human rights and also supervise several PhD students. My main areas of research interest are in criminal justice technologies and police reform, as well as organised and complex criminality.
I lead on institutional partnerships with universities, colleges and a range of international agencies on behalf of the Institute of Law and Justice at Sheffield Hallam University and have been working in this professional field for over 20 years. My academic expertise focuses upon human rights, police reform, police investigation and criminal justice institutions. In addition to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, my university experience includes supervision to completion of several PhDs, the development of postgraduate courses in Applied Human Rights, Criminology and International Justice, and the development of bespoke collaborative programmes with government bodies and universities. This work includes establishing institutional partnerships in Brazil, Malaysia, India, and Palestine.
