ABOUt

Qualified as social worker in 1997. Worked as a children and families social worker for Kirklees MBC and SHELTER. Became the Principal Child Protection Trainer for both Rotherham and Barnsley LSCB before moving into a management position for Barnsley LSCB. Began current post in 1997. Obtained my Doctorate in 2014.

 

Lee Pollard began his career in child protection social work in 1995. He has since worked as a children and families social worker, Principal Child Protection Training Officer and Safeguarding Children Board Development Officer for Rotherham and Barnsley local authorities.

 

He began his current post at Sheffield Hallam University in 2007. Social Worker Experience of Fatal Child Abuse, An Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis, is the culmination of four years' work and marks the completion of his Doctoral thesis. He has delivered papers on the subject of fatal child abuse at a number of conferences, most recently at the ISPCAN International Congress in Dublin and Edinburgh
