TEACHING & SUPERVISION
Penny is Course Leader for Taught Postgraduate in Fine Art. She leads teaches and leads modules across PG Fine Art building connections between research in the field and the development of students understanding of the contexts in which their own work is situated.
Leading the Drawing from the Archive elective directly links students with Penny's research interests in drawing as a mode of inquiry that can open up understanding of different frames of reference. Her work with students across PG, BA and PhD expands her own understanding of contemporary practice, whilst also positioning her as an advocate for drawing as a vital tool for looking, thinking and expression.
As a Phd supervisor, Penny works with students engaged with a range of research studies: heritage and conservation, art writing, curating, archive studies, explorations of memory using new technologies, drawing as a tool to engage with healthcare pathways, painting and its discourses, the post-colonial archive.
