Catriona is a Senior Lecturer in Diagnostic Imaging.
Catriona is a HCPC state-registered Diagnostic Radiographer, having qualified from University College Dublin in 1998. She obtained her Postgraduate Diploma in Medical Ultrasound at Sheffield Hallam University in 2006, and has clinical competencies and expertise in a range of ultrasound examinations. Her clinical experience and expertise relate to ultrasound imaging.
She successfully completed a PgC in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education in 2014, and an MSc Medical Ultrasound at Sheffield Hallam University in 2016. Catriona has been a Senior Fellow of Advance HE since 2021. Catriona completed her PhD during 2025, which used a constructivist grounded threory approach to investigate the use of high fidelity simulation in Sonographer education.
Her current role involves all aspects of academia, including an active role in course and curriculum development, teaching and research supervision at all levels.
