Dr Paul Allan is an Associate Head at Sheffield Business School-home to over 5,500 students. Paul has over 40 years work experience and has held several Senior Management positions in private, public and charity organisations, nationally. Paul has 5 business and management degrees and is a fully Chartered Fellow member of the CIPD. Paul also holds a professional Doctorate (DBA) in Learning and Knowledge and specialises in how this can be utilised to give organisations a strategic competitive advantage.
 
Paul has also worked professionally within industry for over 20 years where he held several senior management positions including, private, public and charity organisations. In the latest years he worked more strategically as part of the Senior Management Team and oversaw the whole of the UK. 
 
In addition to his professional business practices, he has maintained a strong academic profile and has taught on over 40 different business modules at both undergraduate and postgraduate studies at Sheffield Business School. He has also won 4 inspirational teaching awards at Sheffield Business School at College and at University level and has also been nominated for numerous inspirational teaching awards over the last 15 years. Paul has also bee involved in several book publications and has written over 100 professional reports, articles, and policies. 
 
Paul holds 5 Business and Management Degrees which includes e-Business and Management, Business and Finance Management, International Business Management, Human Resource Management and a Professional Doctorate in Business and Management. he is also fully Chartered with the CIPD and holds Chartered Fellowship which was awarded after working at a Senior Management level for over 10 years. Paul also holds a PGCLTHE teaching qualification.
 
Paul also provides supervision to both Masters and Doctorate students on their research projects. Paul has successfully completed over 120 MSc/MBA supervision projects and 7 Doctorate Supervisions projects as their Director of Studies. 
 
In addition to the above Paul has served as a Grenadier Guard in the British Army protecting the Royal Palaces of London with an exemplary record and served in countries such as Kenya, Canada (twice), Belize, and the Falkland Islands.
