My research highlights the experiences of anti-social behaviour policy from the perspectives of victims, perpetrators and practitioners. Collectively, this body of work critically interrogates the usefulness of anti-social behaviour policy.
I joined Sheffield Hallam in 2012 and deliver teaching sessions on both the undergraduate and postgraduate Criminology programmes. I also act as a Dissertation Supervisor and PhD Supervisor.
Prior to joining Sheffield Hallam, I completed a BSc (Hons) degree in Sports Science and Social Science (2:1) and MSc in Criminology and Criminal Justice (distinction) at Loughborough University. I left Loughborough in 2005, taking up a position as a Community Safety Officer for Harrogate District Community Safety Partnership. In this role I was responsible for developing, implementing and commissioning crime reduction projects relating to anti-social behaviour, domestic burglary and reducing violence in the night-time economy. In 2007, I joined the Applied Criminology Centre at the University of Huddersfield, having secured an ESRC CASE PhD studentship with the Home Office. My PhD investigated public perceptions of anti-social behaviour, which I completed in 2010. I began teaching Criminology at Huddersfield in 2009, where I also completed the PgCert teaching qualification.
