Research Expertise & Interests My research focuses on the psychosocial dimensions of health (including mental health and wellbeing) and healthcare delivery, specifically:
- Development and implementation of evidence-based, patient-centred interventions.
- Psychosocial impact of health conditions, quality of life, and adjustment to illness/life stressors.
- Healthcare practitioner-patient communication and patient satisfaction.
- Pain management and the assessment/management of anxiety.
- Specialist in CBT-informed interventions tailored for health psychology contexts, including anxiety management and behaviour change

- Louise May: Exploring the impacts of Perthes disease on individuals and their families (PhD)
- Sarah Ottahal: Understanding the support needs of autistic children who have experienced bereavement (PhD)
- Ella Armstrong-Barker: An intersectional feminist examination of the UK construction industry: Exploring women's experiences and the social policy position within the industry (PhD)
Research leadership
- As co-Lead for Research Support and Development (IoSS) (2022–2026), I provide strategic leadership to foster an inclusive research culture. Key initiatives include organizing institute-wide writing retreats, delivering skills and development workshops for staff and PGR students and implementing/evaluating the IoSS Mentorship Programme.
