ABOUt

I am the Head of Research Excellence and Impact in Research and Innovation Services, supporting key business areas of the University's research portfolio including research policy, performance, assessment, ethics, integrity and governance.

I oversee the University's response to research policy initiatives from government, funders and other bodies, and contribute to the development of the University’s research strategy.

My role includes managing the University's preparations for and submission to research assessment exercises, such as the Research Excellence Framework (REF).  This includes co-ordinating quality assurance exercises and data analysis - monitoring the University's research performance, activity and progress against its research strategy.

I also oversee and support the University's governance framework for research, including research ethics and integrity.  I am a member of the University's Research Ethics Committee (UREC) and its Open Research Operations Group.
