ABOUt

I am an experienced senior academic leader, educator, doctoral supervisor, and researcher with specific expertise in learning and development, and HE pedagogy, including assessment and language learning & teaching.

 

As a Principal Lecturer (2007-2024) and Senior Lecturer (2024-present) at Sheffield Hallam University, I have held a wide-range of leadership and management roles, including Business School Assessment-lead, Associate Director for the Institution-wide Centre for Promoting Learner Autonomy (CPLA), Subject Group Leader and more recently, Departmental and Divisional Quality Lead. I have a wide-ranging experience in designing and/or reviewing undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes of study, and in leading external and cross-university Learning, Teaching and Assessment initiatives and staff development activities. 

 

I am an active member of professional associations and research networks, including Principal Fellow of Advance HE (PFHEA), Research Stream Co-Lead for the University Forum for Human Resource Development (UFHRD) and Research Network co-lead for the International Association of Applied Linguistics.
