ABOUt

I joined Sheffield Hallam University as a Lecturer in 2014, having previously worked as a Practice Tutor in the National Probation Service, following holding various positions in probation, prison, court and the community.

Prior to working in Probation I taught adults for an educational charity, when I completed a Post-Graduate Certificate in Education. In probation I started as an Employment, Training and Education advisor, moving into Group Programmes and then qualifying as a probation officer. This involved completing the Diploma in probation studies which included a Community Justice degree at Sheffield Hallam University. I qualified as a probation officer working in the Magistrates and Crown Court, community offices and prisons.

My specialist areas of interest are Emotional Labour, community sentences and teaching in higher education.
