I am a Senior Lecturer in Criminology, Human Rights and Social Justice at Sheffield Hallam University, teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes within the Institute of Law and Social Sciences. As Module Leader for two Level 4 Criminology modules, a Level 7 Human Rights module and Level 4 Year Tutor, I play a key role in supporting student transition, engagement and success while shaping the learning experience across multiple programmes.

My work focuses on curriculum innovation, authentic assessment and student engagement. I have led the development and redesign of modules as part of programme restructuring, creating learning experiences that connect academic theory with real-world application. I lead the Youth Engagement Project, an authentic assessment initiative that enables criminology students to develop and deliver educational sessions for school and college learners, combining community engagement, widening participation and employability within the curriculum.

I am passionate about internationalising the student experience and creating opportunities for global learning. I lead Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) activities with the University of Texas at Dallas, enabling students to explore comparative approaches to crime and justice through virtual exchange. This partnership has grown into a reciprocal collaboration, with me contributing to the University's Comparative Justice Systems programme and supporting international learning across both institutions.

My commitment to human rights and social justice extends beyond the classroom through international partnership work in Lesotho and India. Through these initiatives, I have supported student field experiences, strengthened relationships with community and educational partners, and contributed to projects focused on human rights, development and access to justice.

Alongside my teaching and curriculum leadership responsibilities, I contribute to strategic discussions around assessment and educational innovation. As part of a team leading work on the University's response to generative artificial intelligence, I support the development of guidance and approaches that help colleagues design authentic, AI-resilient assessments and respond to the rapidly changing higher education landscape.

Across all aspects of my work, I am committed to creating engaging, inclusive and internationally informed learning experiences that empower students to think critically, engage with complex social issues and make a positive impact within their communities and future professions.
