ABOUt

I joined the Children's Nursing team at Sheffield Hallam in 2014. My background as a Children's nurse and clinical educator lead me to persue a career in nurse education and I am passionate to supporting and nurturing our nurses of the future.

I started my training here at Hallam in 1992 and am proud to be an alumni. I gained my degree and RSCN in 1995 and started my career in paediatric general medicine at Rotherham District General Hospital. I then took further posts in orthopaedics and plastics and post-anaesthetic care as a staff nurse at Sheffield Children's Hospital. I then became the nurse manager of outpatients theatre at the Charles Clifford Dental Hospital before returning to Sheffield Children's Hospital and eventually took the post of clinical nurse educator. I have had an exciting and varied career, but have always enjoyed the teaching and supporting roles I have had.

Since starting at Hallam in 2014, I have taken on many roles such as academic advisor, module leadership, employability lead for child, professional issues investigator and Lead link Lecturer. I am also active within the recruitment team here at Hallam and enjoy being part of the college at open days, interviewing and clearing events. I am currently in the final dissertation year of my Masters in Health and Social Care Education and intend to have completed this in 2020.
