I am an experienced mixed method researcher mainly working with quantitative data on large externally funded evaluations. I have been the Principal Investigator on three large randomised controlled trials funded by the Education Endowment Foundation and have worked as a data analyst and project manager on numerous other studies for a variety of funders. I am lead author on reports for Defra, ACAS and the Youth Endowment Fund and my work has been published in several social science and education journals.
I gained my PhD from the University of Birmingham in 2013. My thesis compares the labour market prospects for young people in rural and urban areas of Britain using a mixed method design. Before joining SHU in 2016, I worked at the Institute for Employment Studies and the University of Lincoln.
