ABOUt
Olga is the course leader for the MSc psychology conversion course. She is also part of the teaching team for several modules of Cognitive Psychology, Statistics, Research Methods and the Dissertation module on both undergraduate and postgraduate degree programs.
Olga obtained her Master’s degree in Cognitive Psychology, with a specific focus on Management Psychology, from Moscow State University (Russia) in 2005. In 2011, she received her PhD in Cognitive Neuroscience from the University of Trieste (Italy). After completing her PhD, she worked at the Universities of Pavia, Parma, and Milano-Bicocca in Italy. She joined Sheffield Hallam University in 2018.
Her main areas of interest are the psychology of perception, psychology of art, advancing research methodology in psychology, and psychophysics. In particular, she studies visual and haptic illusions as tools to explore perceptual mechanisms. She is also interested in how perception works together with attention and other cognitive processes, and how emotions are expressed and recognised in faces depicted in artwork.
