ABOUt

I am a Senior Lecturer in Electronic Engineering at Sheffield Hallam University, a Member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. My work spans electronic and embedded systems, intelligent energy management, and sustainable engineering, with a current research focus on reconfigurable battery systems and software defined energy storage.

My research explores how real-time control, safety aware reconfiguration, and battery virtualisation can improve the utilisation, resilience, and lifetime of battery systems, particularly for renewable energy integration, electrification, and second life storage applications. This work builds on my background across academia and industry, including experience in knowledge transfer, electronic systems design, power management for electric vehicles, and postdoctoral research in physical reservoir computing.

I teach across electronic engineering, including analogue and digital electronics, and embedded systems related areas. Through research led teaching, student project supervision, doctoral supervision, and industry collaboration, I aim to support the development of engineers who can apply electronic engineering to sustainable technologies, industrial innovation and real world energy challenges.
