ABOUt

Gérard Jones is a UEFA A Licence coach and FA Advanced Youth Award holder with around two decades experience working across elite and grassroots levels in the UK, USA, North Africa and Asia. He is a U.S. Soccer and UEFA Coach Educator and recently worked as a First-team Head Coach at Visakha FC in the Cambodian Premier League. He previously worked as Head of Coaching at Bristol Rovers FC and U21 Assistant at Bradford City AFC in the English Football League EPPP Academy system, and as an Elite Coach Educator with the Moroccan Football Federation where he also assisted coaching across U15-U20 Youth National Teams. Gérard has also worked as a Director of Coaching across various levels in the U.S. including at MLS Sporting Kansas City within their youth department. He is a Qualified Teacher with a PGCE in Lifelong Learning, holds an MSc in Performance Coaching, and is currently completing a PhD in Skill Acquisition at Sheffield Hallam University. His research focuses in ecological dynamics, and how coaches can use verbal feedback to guide visual search. Gérard has authored several articles in coaching and is a strong advocate for player-centred, game-like, enquiry based learning methods
