My work explores how anti-social behaviour policies are used by different actors with a view to ensuring consistency and fairness in their application. My PhD, jointly funded by the Sheffield Institute for Policy Studies and the Doctoral Training Alliance, empirically examined how local authorities and police forces implement Public Spaces Protection Orders, a tool used to address anti-social behaviour. It revealed that ambiguous legislation, combined with a lack of central government oversight, led to orders that criminalised vulnerable individuals, such as those experiencing street homelessness.  

I have published my work in peer-reviewed journals such as Punishment & Society, and presented at national and international academic conferences. To support the development of my emerging research profile, I was awarded an Early-Career Research & Innovation Fellowship in 2024.
