Ehsan Badakhshan earned his PhD in Business and Management from the University of Ulster. His research focuses on the transformation of supply chains in the digital era, with particular emphasis on working capital management, supply chain risk and resilience, and digital transformation. His work integrates advanced analytical approaches, including simulation modelling and digital twin technologies, to address complex operational and financial challenges in supply chains.

Ehsan previously worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of York, contributing to the project “A Multiscale Digital Twin-Driven Smart Manufacturing System for High Value-Added Products.” In this role, he advanced digital twin technologies for smart manufacturing systems, with a particular focus on multi-scale modelling and data-driven decision-making to enhance the performance of high-value production environments.

Ehsan is the Course Leader for the MSc Project Management programme. He has supervised a large number of postgraduate research projects across several UK higher education institutions.
