Dr Alim Abubakre is on the advisory board of the London Business School Africa Club and is the non-executive chair of These Executive Minds. He is a Senior Lecturer in International Business at Sheffield Business School.
His research is around Responsibility for the Environment, Society and Governance, focusing on three primary contexts: oil and gas, ethical finance and manufacturing. In addition, conceptually, he is interested in Stakeholder theory, Impression management, environmental, social performance and Corporate Social (Ir)Responsibility. He has recently published a transdisciplinary paper with other international collaborators in an ABS3 journal ( International Public Management Journal). The title of this paper is Modeling the barriers to multistakeholder collaboration for COVID-19 pandemic response: Evidence from Sub-Saharan Africa. Dr Alim Abubakre has been invited to present his research at conferences organised by the British Academy of Management and the Academy of Management. His pedagogy is informed by his research. He is an external doctoral examiner at UNICAF. In addition, Dr Alim has served as an expert on Doctoral Progress Review Panels at Coventry University. Dr Alim Abubakre has also been a reviewer for the award-winning book Open Strategy: Mastering Disturbances Outside General Management. Alim is happy to supervise PhD candidates.
Dr Alim Abubakre had worked as a visiting lecturer at the University of Southampton and Nottingham Business School before joining Coventry University as a full-time academic. He is a Senior Fellow of the Advance Higher Education Academy (HEA). Alim is also a Fellow of the Institute of Enterprise and Entrepreneurs and a Certified Management & Business Educator. He has supervised over forty postgraduate students and over fifty undergraduate students to completion. He has served as Associate Director of MA Leadership and Management course, during which the course was successfully reviewed, partnership with Cadbury was forged, culminating in a field trip and confab on BREXIT, and the opportunity was conceived. He mentors early career academics or highly experienced practitioners new to Academia and sits on PhD progression boards.
Alim is a former entrepreneur interested in research, international project management, consulting, stakeholder engagement and executive education. In the past twelve years, Dr Alim Abubakre has worked with many of the world's top business schools and multinational corporations to create executive development programmes. Under Alim's leadership, the company he founded, Texem has trained over 4000 African, European and Asian senior executives, including CEOs, Chairs of Boards, Government Ministers, and Vice-Chancellors, on different management themes that help organisations achieve their goals. Specifically, in partnership with institutions such as the University of Oxford, Henley Business School, Aston Business School and Manchester Business School, Alim has developed academic curricula for executive development programmes.
While working on World Bank projects, Alim was instrumental in accessing and implementing many successful projects with management issues before his involvement. Alim also worked as part of the project management team that delivered a Public-Private Partnership infrastructure project valued at £3 billion; this was the largest public-private partnership project undertaken in West Africa as of 2007.
He has designed and co-delivered programmes for Private sector organisations such as Airtel, UBA, Ecobank, Seplat, Masters Energy, Energia, Unilever, Fidelity Bank, Ag Leventis, GTBank, First Bank and Leadway Assurance. Government (Ministers, MPs, Commissioners, Permanent Secretaries, and Directors). He has also worked with multinational organisations such as Directors at Unilever, EY, KPMG, Deloitte, McKinsey & Company, Manchester United, Bentley, CSRwire, Jaguar Land Rover, Cadbury, Manpower, and Microsoft.

Under Alim's leadership, Texem has trained over four thousand African, Europe and Asian senior executives, including CEOs, Chairs of Boards, Government Ministers, and Vice-Chancellors, on different management themes that help organisations achieve their goals[4]. In addition, in partnership with institutions such as the University of Oxford, Henley Business School, Aston Business School[5] and Manchester Business School[6], Alim has developed academic curricula for executive development programmes[7]. His achievements have included 60-70% repeat participation in executive development programmes based on the quality of educational programmes and the experience of participants[8].

Dr Olatunji Adekoya is a distinguished scholar and Senior Lecturer in Organisational Behaviour and Human Resource Management (HRM) at Sheffield Business School, Sheffield Hallam University, UK. As an accomplished educator, researcher, and academic leader, I bring over several years of experience in higher education, research, and consultancy. I serve as the Course Leader for the MSc Human Resources and Organisational Development programme at Sheffield Hallam University.
My academic credentials include a PhD in Management from the University of East London, an MBA from the University of Wales Trinity Saint David, a Diploma in Business Analytics from Harvard Business School, and a Bachelor's in Economics from the University of Lagos, Nigeria. My diverse qualifications underpin my expertise in HRM, organisational behaviour, and business management, which I teach across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. As a Certified Management and Business Educator (CMBE) and a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA), I continuously enhance my commitment to teaching excellence and fostering inclusive, experiential learning environments.

I am an Associate Head in Sheffield Business School. In my role, I lead on academic operations across the Business School to flexibly deploy staff, ensure the effective management of resources, and leads on academic quality standards; all to optimise the diverse skills of fellow academics, and facilitate collaboration both within the division and across the Business School. In addition, I work with the central SHU team to ensure delivery of Sheffield Business School’s new suite of online courses.

My PhD focused on Organisational Culture and Socialisation with a focus on FM ‘Cultural Fit’, outsourcing and cultural integration. This built upon my industry background and experience in both people and place prior to joining Sheffield Hallam University. I am also interested in multidisciplinary research as they create richer results and have the potential for wider influence and reach. I am Ramjanul Ahsan, an International Business and Entrepreneurship Lecturer at Sheffield Business School, Sheffield Hallam University.
I led the module on research methods and global governance in international business. I have also taught numerous modules in undergraduate and postgraduate courses. I worked in the industry before joining academia.

I am a Senior Lecturer in Economics at Sheffield Hallam University, with degrees from Cairo, American University in Cairo and Exeter. Dr Paul Allan is an Associate Head at Sheffield Business School-home to over 5,500 students. Paul has over 38 years work experience and has held several Senior Management positions in private, public and charity organisations, nationally. Paul has 5 business and management degrees and is a fully Chartered Fellow member of the CIPD. Paul also holds a professional Doctorate (DBA) in Learning and Knowledge and specialises in how this can be utilised to give organisations a strategic competitive advantage.
I have worked professionally within industry for over 25 years where I have held several senior management positions including, private, public and charity organisations. In recent years I have worked more strategically advising and guiding senior management on how to maximise business performance.
In addition to my professional business practices, I have maintained a strong academic profile and have taught on over 35 different business modules at both undergraduate and postgraduate studies at Sheffield Business School. I have also won 4 inspirational teaching awards at Sheffield Business School at College and at University level and I have also been nominated for numerous inspirational teaching awards over the last 13 years.
I have 5 Business and Management Degrees which includes e-Business and Management, Business and Finance Management, International Business Management, Human Resource Management and a Professional Doctorate in Business and Management. I am also fully Chartered with the CIPD, and I hold Chartered Fellowship which was awarded after working at a Senior Management level for over 10 years. I also hold a PGCLTHE teaching qualification.
I also provide supervision to both Masters and Doctorate students on their research projects. I am very proud to say that I have successfully completed over 100 MSc/MBA supervision projects and 5 Doctorate Supervisions projects as their Director of Studies.

I am a Senior Lecturer in Organisational Behaviour and Human Resource Management and have been teaching in universities and business schools since 2011, with much of this experience gained internationally. I am Level 4 Course Lead for the BA Business Management degree, module leader for modules at UG, PG, DA, and SLA level, as well as a contributor to the design and development of new modules at both UG and PG level. My research has focussed on how individuals navigate their careers.
My qualifications include an undergraduate degree in Mathematics, an MBA, with my thesis on Intercultural Entrepreneurship: Case Study of Britons in Germany achieving a distinction, and a DBA, with my thesis titled Experience, Identity and Career of Professionals in Long-term, Non-standard Work Arrangements.
My previous experience comprises working in the UK, Spain and Germany, from MNCs, to startups, to self-employment. In Germany, I supervised over 120 bachelor and master theses, headed up the English Round Table at the FOM, and participated in recruitment and on-boarding activities for new staff.
In 2022, I moved to Sheffield Hallam University. In 2024, I completed the PG Certificate in Teaching in Higher Education with distinction, leading to fellowship of the Higher Education Authority. Dr. Ifedapo Francis Awolowo is an internationally recognised scholar, educator, and thought leader whose work is transforming forensic accounting and widening access to doctoral education. Ehsan Badakhshan earned his PhD in Business and Management from the University of Ulster. His research focuses on the transformation of supply chains in the digital era, with particular emphasis on working capital management, supply chain risk and resilience, and digital transformation. His work integrates advanced analytical approaches, including simulation modelling and digital twin technologies, to address complex operational and financial challenges in supply chains.
Ehsan previously worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of York, contributing to the project “A Multiscale Digital Twin-Driven Smart Manufacturing System for High Value-Added Products.” In this role, he advanced digital twin technologies for smart manufacturing systems, with a particular focus on multi-scale modelling and data-driven decision-making to enhance the performance of high-value production environments.

Dr Ramin Bahadori earned his BSc degree in Industrial Management, MSc in Logistics and Supply Chain Management and a PhD in Advanced Logistics and Supply Chain Management from Sheffield Hallam University.
His research interests and experience include the impact of the digital era on manufacturing systems and supply chain management, technology readiness assessment in the context of Industry 4.0, the digital design of supply networks, smart and sustainable food supply chains, fractal supply networks and green vehicle routing problems.
Prior to being a Lecturer, Ramin worked as a Research Associate at Sheffield Hallam University, carrying out multi-discipline research projects directed by Professor Sameh Saad. During this time, he had the chance to be engaged in some industrial/research projects. For instance, they successfully adapted and utilised a leading methodology to guide and justify investment in smart city's research and development projects to achieve the optimum project portfolio. The method is tested in a real case study, which shows how that methodology can effectively implement throughout the worldwide smart cities development to support strategic technology investments.

I have been teaching on the Carbon Literacy Certificate in the last year having also completed my dissertation on the subject of ESG policies and SMEs.
As a Management Consultant prior to working as a lecturer I worked over the last 25 years with many types of SMEs, advising them on their business strategy, direction and finances. I have extensive experience in analysing businesses, delivering fantastic customer experience, growth and cost-cutting to help them survive and prosper.

I have been an Associate Head at Sheffield Business School since 2024. I am a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA), a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), a Chartered Marketer, and a trustee for the Communication, Advertising, and Marketing (CAM) Education Foundation. I have been a subject examiner for the CIM since 2015.
I hold an EdD in literacy as social practice and my thesis was based on workplace writing in a marketing context. My research interests are in exploring how voice and identity shape textual artefacts in market-oriented workplace settings and how this informs a critical marketing literacy.
From 2020 to 2024, I was Marketing Subject Group Leader for Sheffield Business School where I was responsible for the strategic direction and delivery of a diverse portfolio of marketing courses and modules and for leading a team of around 30 marketing academics.
Immediately prior to this, from 2017 to 2020, I was the collaborative course leader for the part-time executive MBA course and for two undergraduate business management courses at Botswana Accountancy College (BAC). I continue to support the partnership as a module leader on the MBA course and in 2023 I won a University Inspirational International Teaching Award. I am currently collaborating with colleagues at BAC on a research project into the literacy practices of traditional artisans in an art and craft co-operative in Ngamiland, northern Botswana.
I am an active member of PAWBL (Professional, Academic, and Work-Based Literacies), a SIG within BAAL (British Association of Applied Linguistics) and I was the committee convenor from 2022 to 2024, and events lead from 2020 to 2022.
I started working at SHU full-time in 2011 as a senior lecturer in marketing. Before moving into higher education, I spent several years as a freelance marketer where one of my key clients was an international CIM (Chartered Institute of Marketing) study centre.
I started my career as an editor and marketing executive within the publishing division of the Thomas Cook Group. After four years in that role, and before going freelance, I was marketing manager for a UK-based HR consultancy from 1996 to 2002.

I am a Registered Nutritionist (RNutr) (Public Health) and Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. I joined Sheffield Hallam in early 2021 and am currently Senior Lecturer in Food and Nutrition. Within this role, I teach across a range of food and nutrition modules, particularly at postgraduate level, and supervise dissertation projects. I am also Research and Innovation Co-Lead at the Advanced Food Innovation Centre (AFIC), Recruitment Lead for the Division of Sustainable Futures and Supply Chain within Sheffield Business School, and lead of the Sheffield Hallam Appetite Research (SHARe) cluster. My research explores how and why we eat, and how this shapes or is shaped by our health. Before joining Sheffield Hallam, I worked as a freelance nutritionist and completed my PhD exploring the use of electrical brain stimulation to modulate eating behaviours.

Dr Ellen Bennett is a Senior Lecturer within Sheffield Business School, having previously worked as a Research Fellow in the Centre for Regional Economic and Social Research (CRESR). Before joining Sheffield Hallam University in 2008, Ellen worked in a variety of roles within the Voluntary Sector across Merseyside and Greater Manchester. Ellen’s research expertise includes examining the role of voluntary organisations within society over time, and she is currently involved in research across several professional contexts, ranging from small voluntary organisations through to complex multi-sector partnerships. Ellen's current research programmes engage with small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) and charities to explore distinctiveness, value creation and effective delivery of public and community based services.
Ellen has extensive experience in a range of qualitative research techniques – in-depth interviews, focus groups, documentary analysis and language analysis. Ellen has expertise in coproduction and inclusive research methods which allow participants greater autonomy over the research process and has extensive experience of designing research alongside volunteers and organisational participants as part of the research process. In recent research projects, Ellen has engaged with creative research methods, such as free drawing and photo voice, in order to explore more inclusive research practices.
Ellen teaches research and inquiry approaches across taught programmes at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Ellen leads a number postgraduate modules, as well as supporting students as an Academic Advisor and Workplace Mentor. Ellen is the Postgraduate Research Tutor for Sheffield Business School, and supervises a number of PhD researchers.

Pioneered the innovative and inspirational Food Innovation Consultancy Challenge working with Asda Stores plc, Innocent Drinks, Costa Coffee and Taylors of Harrogate and sugar reduction project in line with Public Health England. The module won the prestigious 2019 British Academy of Management Education Practice Award and was fundamental in me achieving the 2019 Sheffield Business School Inspirational Teacher Award.
A member of the BAM Marketing & Retail SIG responsible for Employer Engagement. Fellow and Chartered Marketer with the Chartered Institute of Marketing and Committee member of the Category Landscapers Group. 10 years teaching experience in Marketing, retailing and business disciplines at undergraduate, postgraduate and corporate degree levels. International teaching and presentation experience in Malaysia, China, Madeira and USA. Currently submitting my Doctorate in Business Administration Doctoral Thesis, viva expected October 2019. I am committed to closing the gap between academia and practice.

Paul Beresford is a senior lecturer who completed his doctorate in 2016 exploring cultural branding approaches to the UK grocery market. Prior to joining academia, Paul occupied a range of marketing roles and was commissioned as Interdisciplinary Champion for a £1.27 million, HEFCE funded Food Innovation Project in 2007, which sought to deliver innovation in the food and drink industry. Paul was recruited onto the faculty of Sheffield Business School in 2010 and currently lectures in marketing and branding . In 2015, Paul was awarded the Vice-Chancellor's Inspirational Teaching Award.
